You are within blocks of downtown Palm Springs and all of the shopping, nightlife, restaurants and more. Very rare to find a park with full amenities and this type of access.

Staff is friendly and there are lots of snowbirds and even some long-term residents. The pool and hot tub are a nice feature, as is the full laundry, showers and vending. Gay friendly location.

Sites are VERY close to one another and cars will park on both sides of the street because there isn't room for a tow vehicle plus a full 40-45' RV. This makes backing-in much more difficult. The large hedges between sites do create some privacy and most people use some sort of barrier to create a private space from the front. Just be aware that it's really tight. There is not pet run, so you have to take pets outside the park to do their business. Not a big deal.

I especially like going to the restaurant in the adjoining marina. The city of Chula Vista has a bad name and I don't understand why. In the local shops we run into great working class people. Many residents are from Mexico but you have to remember this is a town on the border and California was once Mexico

Getting there is a steep, scenic drive (do NOT attempt if your RV is prone to overheating). Camp Edison at Shaver Lake has been featured in many magazine articles. Don't confuse this with Lake Edison (also owned by SCE). You can't take an RV to Lake Edison.

Clean restroom/shower onsite (1) sites are not paved, it's just a big lawn.(it rained the last night we stayed, and I needed my 4 wheel drive to get out)Also, on that note, the grass is somewhat uneven, and it can be difficult to level your rig/trailer. It appears it used to be quite nice in it's heyday, but has been neglected. The new bathrooms are adequate, but I can see them becoming overwhelmed if it gets crowded. The entrance is easy to miss, and GPS/Navigation sent us astray. (look for the green metal gate) The 30Amp worked fine, the water was a bit far away, so I needed my long hose. The Eagle closed in town, but the Rainbow Cattle Co. is still going strong. 3R ranch has re-opened, and is under new ownership.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond. Ofcourse every space looked better than what we had. So, oh yes we did..! We moved 3 times in 6 days and the staff bent over backwards to accomodate us (spell check)....? I highly suggest spaces on the east side.... 54 was nice, 106 sucked, and we are now in 18 by the pool...... Great place so close to home. I think it is a little pricey but well worth it..........

I stayed here due to a week long company meeting in San Francisco back in January. I've never been to Pacifica, but I heard that it was a beautiful place, which it is (on the days that it's not fogged in). During my time there, Pacifica was having unusually good weather...so no fog. Even though I didn't have one of the cliff sites, I could still hear the ocean which was very soothing and there was a walking path right along the cliffs with spectacular views. Since I was there during the off season, the place was half empty. That being said, there was a crowded section for the full-timers. I must say, that section looked "trailer park"-ish, with an RV on jacks with a missing wheel, one RV with engine parts on the ground, and a bunch of old neglected RVs and trailers.

As stated in the RV description above, this is the closest RV location to San Francisco. The BART station is conveniently located less than 2 miles away. I parked there each morning and took the BART into downtown SF which is about a 20 minute train ride which was very convenient. There's also a grocery store and several restaurants and fast food places within a short walking distance.

For me, it's not a resort, but it is a great launching point to SF and the surrounding areas.
