Tim and I headed for Lake Nacimiento after Paso Robles. Rainbow Rv Members Rich and Steve
The second leg of this trip is where things got interesting. Steve meets us at the gate with a pretrip briefing. Here is where we were told about ;forging a river,; crossing another on an old 9 foot wide bridge
The trip to Rich and Steves front door reminded me of A South Jersey ZooPark called ‘Animal Adventure'. I did not have a line of communication with Tim but I was hopeful he would not try and pet one of the many herds of steer we passed along the way. Tim and I had a pet cow Hilary who got aggressive at times but was equally curious as these animals were when they got a look at the unique graphics on The RainbowVan.
The Rapids. Water passing the roadway was no more than a foot deep. I aired up the bags and made my way across. One thing that concerned me was having the rear drive tire set mount a rock. If I wedge a big rock between the two tires it could rip the sidewalls and possibly push the bead off the rim and make two flats. As I navigated across I was able to see the larger rocks distort the water flow and none were in my tire path.
We were meet at the scenic property by two other groups of members all of us with full hookups , laundry access and what later turned out to be a restaurant. Steve and Rich treated everyone with great attention to details.
More on this trip in my next post.
