Fun place to hang for a quick weekend get-A-way. They state sites are open and large. Don't you believe it for a minute. They pack ya in tight. But you are RIGHT on the rivers so what the heck. You'll get to meet people from all walks of life (a good thing). Understand this is a place for school kids to go for a weekend field trip. But given all the school cut backs we might all be safe, for a few years to come ;o)

This is where GOLD was discovered... No I mean it... Really! Only a short walk to Sutters wood mill where the GOLD RUSH all started. Cool little town with boatloads of gold drugging, panning and ways-O-life displays and old building to boot. Since we already know the RV park caters to school age kids. You'll find history everywhere and people to answer all your burning GOLD RUSH questions. The blacksmith shop is really cool. This is where we had our campfire poker, custom forged 15 years ago by a volunteer Blacksmith. So cool when you have a story to go with a tool.

There is a charming pie and ice cream shop you must stop at. Really all that walking around builds up a sweet tooth. Their home-made pies are some of the best I've ever tasted... YUMMY!

Enjoy
