Thank goodness the old manager is gone! The new one is GREAT and very nice. This place is first come first served. So it would be best to get here early so you get a space. Parking your rig gets tough when the park is full.
If you love bay front parking this is the place for you. During the less busy times (winter months) you can drive up and grab a bay front space. For bigger 40 to 45 footers if it's not busy you can take two sites (front to back not side by side) and grab 50 amps from rear site as we did.
The entrance to the park comes VERY FAST if you are going south on hwy 1. More of a heads up traveling north bound to be sure. This is an old state park day use park, as is evident by state built bathrooms that are NOT in use. You can have a fire but you must bring your own fire pit.
We stayed here 2 days. We were in-route to Sea Cliff, but the place, weather and people were so nice we stayed an extra day. The fees are not for the faint at heart at around 73 bucks a night. But then again the place is right on the bay.
Great walking or bike riding path right out front (people watching)? Try this place out. It's a rare gem to be sure. Hwy 1 traffic noise is here, but the bay waters work well to mask it.
Enjoy
