Las Conchas Lake State Park
Just northwest of Tucumcari, this lake features secluded coves, canyons, and sandy beaches, excellent for camping, boating, and fishing. One of New Mexico’s largest lakes, you can explore the 11 miles of the Conchas River or 14 miles of the South Canadian River portions of the lake. With miles of shoreline, there is ample opportunity for hiking and birding too.

Santa Rosa Lake State Park
This reservoir on the plains of eastern New Mexico offers fishing, boating, camping and hiking, as well as abundant bird watching opportunities. Equestrians are welcome at the Los Tanos Campground.

Mountain Road RV Park
A Good Place just to stop over if tired from a long road trip..............not much to look at but this park is all gravel sites off the I-40 in the city of Tucumcari........This place would have not made the list of campgrounds to stay but it got decesnt (descent) reviews by other weary travelers.

Hacienda RV Resort (Las Cruces)
Hacienda RV and Rally Resort is conveniently located immediately off of I -10, at exit 140 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Our elevation is app. 3900 feet and our average winter temperatures are 58 -65 degrees during the day and the lower 30’s to high 20’s at night. Our RV park is within walking distance to historic Old Mesilla, where the Gadsen Purchase was signed making New Mexico a part of the United States in 1854. Old Mesilla was also a favorite hangout of of some famous outlaws such as Dutch Hubert, Nicholas Provencio, and Billy The Kid. The jail and courthouse on the southeast corner of the plaza was where Billy The Kid was tried and sentenced to hang. The Basilica of San Albino, the 2nd Basilica in the state, is also located on the square in Old Mesilla. We are only minutes to downtown Las Cruces, the second largest city in New Mexico, offering theaters, museums, dining, and gracious southwestern hospitality.
