The Olympic peninsula and Olympic National Park are among the most spectacular destinations in Washington, and Port Angeles/Sequim KOA is the perfect vantage from which to enjoy them. Explore forests, glaciers, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and the Olympic Mountain Range-whose majestic peaks are visible from every part of the Port Angeles / Sequim KOA. Ask your hosts about packages to Victoria, B.C., just a ferry ride away. The Port Angeles/Sequim KOA is a destination unto itself, with loads of fun-filled activities, including big-screen movies and ice cream socials. July and August feature “Theme weekends”, including Lavender Weekend, held in conjunction with a festival in Sequim, the Lavender Capital of North America.

Not a bad place to stay over while waiting to take the Ferry over to Victoria Island.

But be forewarned, go the day ahead and place a reservation for your ferry ride. Arrive here very early in the morning of your Ferry ride. Oh by the way, it's going to cost ya! Ours cost us $575 US for a round trip sailing. They go by footage... Ouch. 40 foot MoHo towing a car. You can unhook tow car for savings of $20 bucks roundtrip ($10 each way for our small tow) in our case. Not worth the time or effort in our world.

Be very aware of the Canadian border personal once in Canada (Victoria Island gateway). They tore our MoHo apart looking for whatever they thought we had hidden away. In the end (45 minutes later) they only confiscated some "rouge" firewood we had in our tow car. Seems boxed fire wood is okay to take in; but non-boxed wood is a huge NO-NO. Whatever!

They didn't seem to question our stockpile of wines (in our wine cooler) or our adult beverage cocktail making liquor we had onboard (well over the limit in their laws). So there you have it, DON'T bring over illegal drugs (pot and other stuff), but boatloads of liquor seemed to pass through without even a second thought on their part.

Make sure if you travel with pets you have a health certificate from your Vet.They asked us for ours and we had one to show them. I hear-tell after you've been through this ordeal, they rarely place you through it during the next border crossing, as your paper work is already in their system. We breezed back through Port Angeles, US border crossing with just a hand wave! Makes one wonder how careful the USA is about border crossings? Besides... Who in their right mind would bring in liquor from Canada? Taxed to the ninth degree!

Ok, back to the KOA campground. Clean and good for overnight stay or maybe even a few days to check out the town.

Enjoy
