Campgrounds

I am looking for some campgrounds in central to southern CA.  Resorts are fine but looking to get to some campgrounds with the basics.  I have a 35' 5th wheel.  Most places seem to only want to take trailers or rigs under 26 feet.  Any good places?  Something in the woods would be great!

Thanks!

Stephen

Julian at Pinezanta is a good campground we have stayed at; its got all the rustic charm you would want in a campground w/o the feeling of it being a regular RV resort per say. Its woodsy with hundreds of Pine Trees meandering through out its campground, nice level graveled sites in the lower and upper section of its RV Park. It's got 30 amp hookups and water connections but no sewer; but the Park does have Dump Sites conveniently located.

Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort is another little secret that you just have to visit. Talk about wanting a woodsy setting, this park has HUGE redwoods throughout this RV Park. You can literally smell the redwood Bark off the trees. They have level graveled sites and full hookups. If you like the woodsy feel, then you will love this RV Park just remember to bring your tartan lumberjack shirts . their listing is on this web-site under Camground Reviews

Another great campground is Big Bear Lake State Park at Serrano Campground accross the street from Big Bear Shores RV Resort. The Serrano Campground is surrounded by big tall Pine trees and the sites are all level with black top sites, full hookup w/electric and you you would need to book thru "Reserve America". The other campground in Big Bear is Halloway Campground located right on the Big Bear Lake waters . Though its not surrounded by Pine Trees it does have gorgeous views of the surrounding lake.

Lake San Antonio South Shore is great. We normally stay at the Harris Creek camp ground which is only water and electric. If you want full hook-ups there is Redondo campground. I hosted several RRV events here back in 2001.

Camp Edison at Shaver Lake ... the best, if you can get past their reservation system. The most pristine Sierra "wilderness" with full hook-ups you'll ever find ;>
