Looking at our first RV
Hey Guys,
My partner and I are looking at buying a RV and have no idea what kind we want. I thought checking out a site like this would give me an idea of what it would be like to be driving around the country. We like staying at nice resorts, in warm locations during the winter, but we miss our two dogs. The idea of diving through the South sounds like fun, but not sure we would feel comfortable staying at most trailer parks. Now staying at gay ones would be a different story. I'm thinking something on the small size would be easier for us to deal with, but I don't want to end up sleeping on a table either. This site seems like fun and I might pick up some ideas of how and where we would be using our first RV.
Thanks,
Steve

We jumped in, too. Have a 36' Itasca Meridian and, though we've taken a bit of time to get to know the unit, we are really happy. We're fulltimers and think we'll do this for a long time. Haven't been able to do a Rainbow event yet and are really looking forward to it. Heading up to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland for the summer...
Hey Guys thanks for the notes. We are still looking around, I might be retired by the end of summer, so... I'll post any changes. We took a short trip in the SUV with the two dogs this spring. Too small and motel rooms get old fast. Steve
We also jumped right in. We have s 38" Monaco Diplomat. We went pre-owned to make sure this is the right path for us. So far, it is! I retired recently, and we took our time looking at different options. We like 5th wheels for the room, but the fact is that by the time we purchased a truck to pull it, the costs became prohibitive for us. We travel with our parrot, and the climate control was an important factor. Besides, transferring a bird to and from a vehicle just leaves the doors open for disaster.
We just joined Rainbow, and are looking forward to meeting great people! Currently on our shake-down trip and in NOLA. Paul and Doug (and Roscoe too)
